Bath 2013
Special Olympics
Congratulations
After two days of competition, the medals have begun to flow. Lisa Pearson opened the account with a Gold in the shot put, closely followed by James Chalk who has also picked up a Gold in the standing jump, to go with his Silver in the shot.
An extra special mention must go to the two Sams, Moss and Searle, who both put in spectacular performances getting personal bests in their events but managing to get disqualified for being too good !!!
As I write Wayne Taylor has put in another fine performance to take a Silver in the long jump.

The results are in .........
Okay that's it the tally is in 3 golds, 2 silver and 3 bronze Medals.
Well done to each and every one of our athletes, who put in some stunning performances, setting personal bests in many events (even if this meant disqualification).
Below is the final medal haul.
Lynsey Lodwidge a fantastic bronze in the women's standing long jump, followed Lisa Pearson with our first gold this time in the women's shot putt.
Whilst in the men's events Wayne Taylor got himself a silver in the men's long jump, before Sam Searle recovered from his earlier disappointment in the standing long jump to take a gold in the 100m and a bronze in the men's shot putt. Richard Manning set himself a personal best in the shot, before sprinting a well deserved bronze in the 100m. Next in the list of heroes is James Chalk who topped our own table with a gold and a silver in the standing long jump and shot putt respectively. Finally we come to the much famed Sam Moss, who set himself a new personal best in the standing jump getting disqualified in the process, but who cares ? it was a fantastic jump so well done again to Sam and all of the athletes and their helpers who made this yet again one of the years's highlights.
